33 Signal Unit Scanners

33 SU was declared operational as an air defence direction center (ADDC) for rajasthan sector wef 17apr 76 at Jodhpur. The Unit was in fact the first of the series of static high powered radar stations quipped with THD 1995 radar. 33 SU acquired it is logo of the nocturnal mammal “the bat” in July 1978 and was also given it is present name "scanner" in the same year. Prior to 33 SU, the role was performed by 18 SU as one of the oldest SUs in the country
